• Molecular Spintronics
is a new field of research that combines the ideas and concepts developed in spintronics with the possibilities offered by molecules to perform
electronic functions, to form self-organized nanostructures and to exhibit quantum effects.

It ultimate goal is the creation of new spintronic devices using molecular materials, or in the longer term one or a few molecules in the race
    toward miniaturization.
  • To reach this goal a coordinated effort of the communities of Spintronics, Molecular Electronics and Molecular Magnetism is needed.

These communities are developing a very competitive and high-quality work in Europe in their respective fields. Still, Molecular Spintronics is so
new that an initiative to encourage networking of researchers in this field is of paramount importance.

The present COST ACTION intends to fill this gap integrating these communities around a common Action that should serve to consolidate the
world-leadership of Europe in this field.

Joint WG2 and WG3 COST workshop on "Quantum spin science and technologies", 31st of August to 1st of September 2017

Novotel Bucharest City Centre Hotel

The workshop will take place after the closing of the ECMM-2017 conference and at the same venue. It will start after lunch, at about 15h00, on August the 31st and end the day after at about 17h00.
It will provide a relaxed atmosphere to promote scientific discussions and collaborations between the scientific communities working on spin qubits (molecular or not) and on single-molecule spintronics.

The workshop will consist of 5 invited talks plus a number of contributed talks. Confirmed invited speakers are Richard Berndt (Kiel University, Germany), Enrique Burzurí (IMDEA Nanociencia, Madrid, Spain), Thomas Jung (Basel University, Switzerland), Johannes Majer (Technical University of Vienna, Austria), and Roberta Sessoli (Florence University, Italy).

We would like to invite you to submit your abstracts to fluis@unizar.es using the word template before May the 20th. Contributions from young researchers are especially welcomed.
For a better planning please confirm your participation to the workshop before May, 20th by just sending a short notice to Fernando Luis fluis@unizar.es

COST will contribute, under its own rules, to cover living expenses of those participants that belong to MOLSPIN.

We are looking forward to see you in Bucharest.

Bologna (Italy), November 15th -18th, 2016

Workshop WG1: Thursday 17/11 15:30-18:30

Workshop WG2: Tuesday 15/11 10:00-13:00

Workshop WG3: Friday 18/11 15:30-18:30

With the aim of fostering the interactions within and between the three WG's, specific workshops for each working group are organised in the framework of the European Conference on Molecular Spintonics. Each workshop is composed of a session of general discussion and a session of presentations at the ECMS.
