• Molecular Spintronics
is a new field of research that combines the ideas and concepts developed in spintronics with the possibilities offered by molecules to perform
electronic functions, to form self-organized nanostructures and to exhibit quantum effects.

It ultimate goal is the creation of new spintronic devices using molecular materials, or in the longer term one or a few molecules in the race
    toward miniaturization.
  • To reach this goal a coordinated effort of the communities of Spintronics, Molecular Electronics and Molecular Magnetism is needed.

These communities are developing a very competitive and high-quality work in Europe in their respective fields. Still, Molecular Spintronics is so
new that an initiative to encourage networking of researchers in this field is of paramount importance.

The present COST ACTION intends to fill this gap integrating these communities around a common Action that should serve to consolidate the
world-leadership of Europe in this field.

Joint Workshop of the Working Groups 1 (WG1. Organic Spintronics) and 2 (WG2. Single-Molecule Spintronics) 25th October 2018

WG3 COST workshop on "Quantum Spin Science and Technologies", 25th of May 2018
'Be Live Experience Playa la Arena' in Puerto Santiago (Tenerife, Spain)

Spins in solids or molecular hosts are natural candidates to realize new devices working as quantum sensors, quantum simulators or universal quantum processors. For this, achieving an exquisite control over the quantum state of individual spins will be required. The workshop aims to bring together specialists on molecular spintronics, spin qubits and quantum circuits, provide a relaxed atmosphere to promote fruitful scientific discussions and help establishing collaborations that contribute to develop future quantum technologies. The workshop will take place after the closing of the ESMolNa2018 and at the same venue, on 25th of May 2018 from 9 am to 19h30 pm.

The workshop will consist of 2-3 invited talks plus a number of contributed talks. Invited speakers will be confirmed shortly.

We would like to invite you to submit your abstracts to fluis@unizar.es using the word template before March the 15th. Contributions from young and female researchers are especially welcomed.

For a better planning please register as a regular attendant to ESMolNa 2018 before April 12th indicating your participation to the WG3 Workshop.

Participants belonging to the COST Action MOLSPIN can be eligible for reimbursement of living expenses under COST rules.

We are looking forward to see you in Tenerife.
