Women & Science Work Group
ICMol created in 2016 a ‘Women & Science’ Work Group as a result of its commitment to gender equality in research and innovation. ICMol’s gender equality strategy is in agreement with the Horizon2020 and Horizon Europe objectives that foster an institutional change, particularly focusing on:

• gender equality in scientific careers
• gender balance in decision making
• integration of the gender dimension into the content of research and innovation

Activities

Since 2017, we have yearly organized a Jornada de la Mujer Investigadora, including some particular collaboration with the IFIC-CSIC. This event is supported by the UV’s Equality Unit and has addressed the following topics:

• Gender equality in the Natural Sciences at the UV (2017)
• Female visibilization in Science (2018)
• Female scientific leadership (2019)
• Leadership workshop and Women in Science (2020)
• Conciliation and Co-responsibility (2021)
• Ethics for an Egalitarian Science (2022)

This Work Group is a dynamic and open structure with the goal of recognizing and strengthening equal opportunities within the Institute. With this objective, different Educational Outreach Actions are regularly considered in our agenda since 2017, including activities to promote scientific STEM careers among girls.
